The Horse Farm Workers' Educational Assistance Fund is a 501(c)(3) Tax Exempt Charity |
THE HORSE FARM WORKERS' EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE FUND
The Fund was created in 1996 to provide scholarship assistance for education after high school to the children of full-time Thoroughbred horse farm workers in central Kentucky. Through 2012, over 482 scholarships have been granted and $954,295 has been distributed to a deserving group of dedicated young people who possess an outstanding work ethic. The scholarships provide important assistance to the recipients, and also serve a practical purpose for the Thoroughbred industry as many of the scholars eventually return to work with horses.
The Fund also provides financial assistance to full-time horse farm workers who seek equine related training aimed at increasing their horse knowledge and on-the-job effectiveness. |
